Patricia Simmons

A tribute to Pat Simmons (1949-2022):

Pat was an EAA member since 2003, a friend and a regular participant at art shows and meetings.  Pat was thrilled to have a One Woman Show at the Fairmount Center for the Arts in December 2021.

From the time she was four years old, Pat has been an artist.  Art was truly her life.  She attended the Cleveland Institute of Art, and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Cleveland State University.  Pat taught art in the Cleveland area for twenty years. She loved to draw.  Her abstract mixed media collage paintings are detailed with acrylic, pastels and markers.  Her juxtaposition of bold colors and soft blends are refreshingly different and expertly executed.  Patricia said color is the most important part of her art.  Over the years, her art evolved into something she never imagined.  She has won many awards, produced ‘four' one-woman shows and several group shows.  Her personal goal as an artist was to one day have her art in an art museum….and that may yet happen!
